FAQ

Fittings & flanges questions

Which flange type should I use?

Weld neck flanges suit high-pressure, high-temperature and cyclic service. Slip-on flanges are easier to align and suit lower-pressure lines. Blind flanges close a line end, and socket-weld flanges suit small bore. Your piping class usually specifies the type.

Why do my flanges leak?

Most flange leaks come from uneven bolt load, a reused or wrong gasket, or damaged facings. Tighten in a star pattern in stages, use a new gasket of the correct type and rating, and check the facing before assembly.

Can you quote a complete joint?

Yes. Send the line size, class and material and we will quote flanges, gaskets and stud bolts together so every part matches.

Do you supply larger flanges above 24 inches?

Yes, to ASME B16.47 Series A or B on request. Lead times are shown on the quotation.
